So I've come to realize that much of a woman's experience with her menses is individual, but does anyone else get weird dreams on your menses? Mine are just WEIRD!!

I've had only a few cycles in the last several years, but I have noticed that my dreams seem to get weirder/more intense when my hormones are out of whack.

Maybe that explains why on this round of Clomid I'm having such wacky dreams? I've had the most bizarre dreams the last 5 or 6 days, and I just thought it was random, until reading this thread. Maybe it is a side effect of the Clomid, lol.

I tend to get insomnia right before menses (usually 2 nights before), and then I get funky dreams the first couple of nights in.... They are kinda like my pregnancy dreams...just totally illogical...even for dreams. I assume it is just the hormones....lol....

Well, I think all of that has to do with the hormones going crazy. It effects your brain chemistry thus producing strange dreams. My dreams are always super crazy when I'm on my menses, but I think thats fairly normal. [Please ignore the "edited by ta_mosquito" message - nothing has been changed...except this part.]

Yes, I get weird dreams, along with the insomnia a couple of nights before.

I have really bizaare dreams all the time, I honestly think I have a hormone imbalance somewhere which causes it. Hubby says it's too bad I'm not a screenwriter, I've dreamed up several good storylines. Heh.

I'd believe it. I've never connected mine with hormones...usually I can tie it to my stress level. When I get really stressed I have nightmares...at least once to the point of waking up screaming. Scared DH pretty badly.

HAH! Now that's funny! I bet at the time it wasn't, however.

Just an example of why my dreams really bother me sometimes - An old classmate of mine posted on FB recently that there had been a death in her cousin's family. Her cousin is also someone that I went to school with. My classmate did not specify anything about the person that died, it could have been a 90 year old grandma for all I know, only that there had been a death and could we pray for the family. But, tonight I had a very vivid dream where I found out that it was a preschool aged adopted child of the cousin, who had been born with HIV, I even saw her picture (adorable little girl) and a caption with her name (Aleeyiah). Then I went on to have a flashback in my dream of meeting the girl when she was just a toddler, she and her mom and my classmate had driven home from a basketball game with hubby and me. This child was absolutely precious, much older than her years and smart as a whip, and it broke my heart to find out she had succumbed to her illness. But...it was all just a dream. The bad part is (other than it making me sad for someone that doesn't even exist LOL) had I not dreamed the part about meeting her which I know didn't happen, I probably would have filed that dream back in my mind and then thought it was true, kwim? I've had many times where I had to ask someone if something I had dreamed about really happened, and it can be really awkward for all involved to honestly not know if something truly happened or not. Ugh.
