‘Conspiracy’ comes back for Clintons Tyrrell claims that Bill Clinton has continued to womanize since he left office in 2001. “During Clinton’s retirement there have been other ladies, though most, according to my sources, have been one-night stands with hostesses on Clinton’s speaking tours,” Tyrrell writes. “Some of these girl-hops, sources report, took place in Ireland, France, Australia, Taiwan, Rio, and London.” Tyrrell also claims Bill took to jet-setting in order to offset depression and a difficult domestic living situation with Hillary. (“The tirades and flying objects directed by her at Bill’s defenseless skull are not fictions invented by Clinton-haters. ... There would be more spousal abuse during Clinton’s retirement when his amours threatened Hillary’s political longevity.”) “The Clinton Crack-Up” takes the 42nd president to task for his pardons, his financial ties to China and the United Arab Emirates and his poor track record helping Democratic candidates win elections: “[T]he Clintons have never been particularly good for the Democratic Party.” Sen. Clinton is certainly anticipating stories such as those detailed in Tyrrell’s book as she continues her quest for the White House. On Tuesday, Clinton reiterated her famous “vast right-wing conspiracy” charge, first leveled in 1998 in response to the initial allegations of her husband’s relationship with Monica Lewinsky. And New Hampshire Democratic Party chairwoman Kathy Sullivan seconded the notion.

ORIGINAL: KingsFool After the Swift Boat group there is any doubt left that there are those in the right out for blood? Please. KF As soon as Kerry got home, he joined the Viet Cong. He spread lies about our servicemen engaging in widespread murder and torture, yet the only specific event he could identify was when he torched a village. Later he said he mispoke. That former president Clinton has sexual problems, sometimes even criminal, has been well established. There's nothing new here except the names and places. Speaking of blood, the left has the blood of over 40 million unborn children on it's hands. And they still want more.

This, from the author of the histronically-titled fountain of truth: "Madame Hillary: The Dark Road to the White House"? Scary! Listen, even if Bill Clinton is still messing around on his wife, I couldn't care less. Further, I don't care what his sex life is (or is not) like. News flash: Clinton has not been president for seven years.

Staying on the OP, let's give Tyrell exact credit for accuracy and fairness in reporting: none. I'm no Bill Clinton fan, but this is a pure hack job, through and through. Sincerely, I hope Bill Clinton drops a slander suit on Tyrell and forces him into a court of law. I guarantee Tyrell would cower behind the "reporter can't disclose his sources" meme before coming out and actually proving Bill Clinton did any of the trash he's accusing him of.

John How much attention does he get? I listen to NPR practically non-stop and I rarely hear his name mentioned except in passing. If he's truly seeking the spotlight, then he needs a better publicist. -Dan.

Yeah, compared with the controversy Jimmy Carter seems to have stirred up, Clinton has been almost invisible in comparison. Most of the publicity spotlight has been because he's husband of a leading Democratic candidate. He had one spat with Chris Wallace that was news for a week or so last year. What else? Prior to that all I can remember was his efforts to help raise money for the tsunami appeal. The gall of the man...

Humiliated and enraged, Hillary Clinton stuck with her husband throughout the ordeal - her most famous "stand by your man" moment. Now making her own White House bid, the New York senator speaks in generally glowing terms about Bill Clinton's presidency. From the economic prosperity of the 1990s to his fondness for Dunkin' Donuts, she has eagerly embraced her husband's legacy. At the same time, she's ventured into the darker shadows of the Clinton White House years, a move that allows her to define it on her own terms for a new generation of voters. Linda Fowler, a professor of political science at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, called the Lewinsky matter "the 800-pound gorilla" of Clinton's campaign and said she has little choice but to address it. "Many Democrats, many women, have very mixed feelings about what went on during the Clinton presidency and it's part of the reluctance to crown Hillary Clinton the nominee," Fowler said. "So she's telling activists, 'I understand what your concerns are and I'm not afraid to talk about them.' And she's doing it with humor, which is usually the best way." Analysis: Clinton Talks About Dark Times

How ironic that of all the candidates to choose from, left and right, who have had marriage woes, Hilary Clinton has been the only one who has demonstrably taken the Biblically correct course in staying in their marriage. Of course, she will get no credit from Republican supporters around here (but I'm quite prepared to be proven wrong on that.... )

But Clinton’s new, er, friendship isn’t helping his wife’s presidential aims, writes eric reguly As potential girlfriends go, Belinda Stronach would rank as a true catch. She is single, youngish (she just turned 40), attractive, wealthy, impeccably well-connected and politically ambitious - glamorous in every respect. Two years ago, Time magazine listed her as one of the 100 most powerful people on the planet. The tabloids cut to the chase: they called her the "blonde bombshell" or "Bubba's blonde."--3 pg.story on link Bill and Belinda’s excellent adventure

I agree with those who say "who cares what he does" esp since he is no longer our President, but even if he were still in office I have a lot more concerns than who he is having sex with. Some things are private...and I consider a person's choice of sex partners exactly that. I am quite sure God and Hilary can handle the details.

If your daughter wanted to work with Bill Clinton would you let her? It would not surprise me that Hillary stayed in her marriage for political gain not biblical principals...though its possible I could be wrong....but I would not bet on it. Bill seems to have a zipper problem. Well, ya know we all got something. I would hope and pray our leaders could act better...but they seldom do.
