The only good thing about Twister was that no matter how many tornadoes Helen Hunt went flying through, she still came out looking great in that clean white cotton top... but I digress... the best disaster movie would have to be Independence Day, which I guess would be a sci-fi/disaster hybrid. So, okay, for pure disaster it's got to be Poseiden Adventure (1972). Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, Shelley Winters and a TOTALLY annoying kid. I'll also give a shout out to Airplane! Surely you'll agree...

Towering Inferno hands down. 2012 looks like it will rock. The Day After Tomorrow was good too. 10.5 was a fun earthquake movie Armageddon and Deep Impact were good ones Perfect Storm was great considering had to just imagine what it was like on the boat. category 6 and 7 were good movies but the odds of those occuring slim to none

The Day After Tomorrow. One reason is because the whole plot is HILARIOUS. I mean, they're going through another ice age and what's the cause? Global Warming!!! Also, I like seeing the extreme weather events such as Hollywood being destroyed by multipile tornadoes and giant hailstones falling in Asia.

Definitely THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE and DEEP IMPACT. Not sure why INDEPENDENCE DAY is listed as a disaster movie, it reminds me more of an updating of WAR OF THE WORLDS....

I'd say the day after tomorrow, the poseidon adventure, Cloverfield and believe it or not, 28 days later.

The Hindenburg (sp?) for me. Best disaster movie ever, because it was all based on a true story. That really happened.
