That's the only thing I can think of to call the thread. I just wonder are any other ladies like me: There is a situation that I have given to God a zillion times, forgiven those that need forgiveness for it and accepted the lessons learned... Yet whenever I start PMSing and my hormones get all whacky...it comes back and starts to annoy the dickens outta me. Does anyone else have a similar problem with hormones messing with you in a spiritual manner?

I learnt that when I was PMSing I needed to take care to give myself a bit more of a break than usual ~ ie make sure there was time for me to rest a little more and not dwell too much on issues I thought I'd dealt with. My spiritual life went much better then!

If PMT is related to menopause then that's not the help I'm looking for. I'm only 29, I pray I don't start during perimenopause stuff for a long time. I also have fibromyalgia so PMS and period make the FM worse. Blah. This issue isn't something I dwell on. As I said I have given it over to God a zillion times but for some reason something happens to me to make me more sensitive and thoughts of it come back to irk me when my hormones start up.

MissInnocent ~ have you spoken to your doctor about all of this? I think it's worth you doing so if you haven't because they may well be able to help you work out something to help you reduce your symptoms.

MissInnocent, what is your diet like and what exercise can you (and are you able) to do? Even small changes can help stabilise mood levels.

I also have fibromyalgia so PMS and period make the FM worse. Fibromyalgia is such a complex condition, it's possible for any physical disturbance can cause it to flare. It's a bummer, for sure. As hard as it may be, try to keep moving. Regular gentle exercise, like walking, water exercise, and stretching are pretty effective at keeping pain and fatigue to a minimum.

As I said I have given it over to God a zillion times but for some reason something happens to me to make me more sensitive and thoughts of it come back to irk me when my hormones start up. In addition to doing what you can with water, healthy food choices, exercise, and appropriate medication, I would work on praying Scriptures that help transform your mind.... esp. about things that get triggered during TTotM (that time of the month) like anger, suspicion, doubt, self-pity, lethargy, boredom, zany moments of cleaning everything in sight (or rearranging your soup cans, alphabetically), bitterness, sadness, worry, and so forth. I'm doing a study called Managing My Moods, and it's great. It's got chapters on all sorts of things, including the doldrums (utter boredom/lethargy). It's one of the Women of Faith® Bible studies. I also recommend two resources by Beth Moore: Praying God's Word Scripture cards and Praying God's Word book. * Cards: Beth has made prayers out of all sorts of Bible verses (some prayers use the verses verbatim) on lots of topics. The cards are business card size. * Book: The book goes more in depth in explaining how to paraphrase God's Word into prayers that apply to your situation or how to personalize them. Two chapters include space for you to write Scripture-based prayers in your own words. Praying the Word back to God accomplishes at least three things: (1) gets you to praying God's will, (2) helps you memorize and understand Scripture, and (3) helps prepare you to fight off the enemy. (The Word is our only offensive weapon, remember. And it also helps us "put on" the other parts of the armor, the defensive parts.) The Praying God's Word resources grew out of Beth's study Breaking Free: Making Liberty in Christ a Reality in Life, which delves into the battles we face, especially the ones having to do with our thought life.
